I LOVE granola!
And with this recipe you will LOVE it too!
Here's what you'll need!
10 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup wheat germ
1/2 lb. shredded coconut
2 cups raw sunflower seeds
1 cup sesame seeds(optional)
3 cups almonds, pecan, walnuts, or combination(optional)
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1-1/2 vegetable oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup molasses
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 teaspoons vanilla
Raisins or other dried fruit(optional)
Step 1. In large bowl mix together oats, wheat germ, coconut, sesame seeds, and nuts.
FYI: I chose to skip the sesame seeds, nuts and dried fruit.
Step 2. In sauce pan, heat together brown sugar, water, vegetable oil, honey, molasses, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla until sugar has melted.
Don't let boil!
Step 3. Mix liquid and dry ingredients together.
Then spread mixture evenly between some cookie sheets or baking dishes.
Step 4. Back for 25mins at 350. For crunchier granola back an extra 10-15mins!
As long as it's stored properly it will stay good for up to 6 months!
Till Next Time,
Kate
