Chart's for Jack-Jack!

Hello People,
So since we now have a 3 year old around I thought it would ba great time to put him to work!
Okay, okay not really.
But I did whip up a cute
Chore Chart
and a
Potty Chart!!
Jack is WAY into stickers right now, so I thought why not make him a way to use them!
And they were super easy and cheap to make!
Here's What you'll Need:
Poster Bored(0.68c)
Washable Markers($2.99 at Target)
Stickers(0.99c)
Ruler(had on hand)
Like I mentioned eariler, it's super easy!
Step 1. Decied what size you'd like your chart, and then measure and cut.
Step 2. Measure and add the colums.
Step 3. Fill in the spaces!
I choose to leave tthe colums bigger that way each time he goes we can just add a sticker to the slot.
For each "Uh-Oh!" I will draw in a sad face that way we can keep track of how many accidents there are a day.
Step 4. Hang Up!
I did the same with the Chore Chart.
I tried to add things that we all ready do with him.
Next time i'll add: Feeding the Fish and Picking Up the Patio to the list.
And this fall we will be adding: Practice Memory Verse

Jack was very excited to see the chart!
(Yes I did make him a smaller chart for this week)
I hope he enjoys adding the stickers!!

Kate

How To: Make a Drawstring Bag

I am so excited about this post!
A few weeks ago my pastor's wife asked if I could make a few drawstrings bags that could be used to hold a small coloring book and some crayons.
I thought it was a great idea!

Here is what i came up with!
Aren't they cute?
They are so easy to make that even YOU can make them!

Here's How:

Step 1. Cut fabric to desired size.
Since these are being used for a small child's activity book I decided to cut my fabric 8 inches by 21 inches wide.

Step 2. Fold edge of fabric 1/2 inch in.
Then iron it flat and
stitch edge.
Then snip edges with pinking shears.

Step 3.
With right sides together stitch sides together using a 1/2 seam stopping 2 inches away from top.

Step 4. Press the top side seams open.
Then stitch around the opening.
Be sure to pink these edges as well!

Step 4. Fold top down 1 inch
Then near the bottom stitch all the way around and turn right side out.

Step 5. Cut 2 pieces of ribbon or cording to desired length.
Then using a safety pin thread the cord through the casing.
Add some decorative beads and then pull it tight!
And there ya go! A quick and easy Drawstring Bag!

You can also make your own straps like this:

Step 1. Cut 2 stripes of fabric.
I decided to do 1 inch wide by 18 inches long but you can make them any size.

Step 2. Fold and iron edges in.
Then fold and iron again.

Step 3. Stitch along edges.

Step 4. Using a safety pin thread strap through bag casing.
Then fill your bag with goodies and enjoy!
I really hope that you enjoy this How To!
Please let me know what you think of it!

Kate

Finished Projects & New Items

Well, I've been busy!!
I've accomplished so many sewing projects today!
But of course that means our apartment is a mess.
Isn't that how it always works?
Thankfully my hunny works tonight so hopefully he won't notice the mess as he heads out the door! lol

So here's a look at what I've been doing!
I am sending these items over to Kristin at Kozy Kuddlers by KAL!!
I was hoping to have a few more items made but unfortunately i ran out of time.
But there's always next year!
I love this bag! It turned out so nice!

I've also added a few New Items to the Shop!!

I LOVE this scarf!!
It's really breaking my heart to have to put this scarf in my shop since i DON'T want to share it!!
But thankfully i know where to buy more fabric! ;~)
 I LOVE scarf knots!
I don't know why but i think they add something unexpected to your outfit!
Plus this scarf is perfect for the classic look!
Or something different!
I just love how it's long and eye catching!

This is another great scarf!
Perfect for the classic and fashion forward outfits!
And it's great for knots!!
This scarf is 10in wide and roughly 65" long!

Both these scarfs come in other colors!

The Last Few Days...

Have been interesting for us! On Monday night i started a new project!
Any guess on what it's going to be? Well if you've "Liked" my Facebook page then you already know that it's going to be a Toddler Backpack!
Jack & i found this adorable fabric on one of our many trips to the fabric store! & i thought that it would be perfect for a backpack for him! But i forgot to pick up some coordinating fabric for the lining. So Jack & i went shopping in my stash & guess what we found...

It's a little more...out there then what i would choose. But since he insited & it is  going to be his backpack i figure that it wouldn't hurt to use it! Especially since he so cutely said "Peaz Momma"!! How can you say no to a polite kid? Plus I'm starting to really like it now too!
But I'm sad to say that this project had to be put on hold since i don't have the clasps for the strapes on back.
Besides, i had to start work on a Custom Scarf Order!
Isn't it cute?? It's the same fabric that is used in the Zebra Print Scarf but this scarf has been widen to 10" inches plus it will not be pleated! I think it's super cute & ya never know maybe we'll be seeing some of this style later this Fall in the Shop!!

Within the midst of all these projects Jack has not been feeling well.
Poor Guy is running a 102 fever & is super crabby. We had a very long night last night. He just couldn't get comfortable & he wanted me to hold him while he slept. Daddy was at work all night so Jack was able to comfortably sleep with me. I didn't sleep to comfortably but i guess that's okay.

So today he is having a movie day while he plays in the living room.  So far he is keeping all food & liquids down & he is still actively playing!
But after a few minuets of playing he is back on the couch resting. I really hope that he starts to feel better soon since i hate seeing him sick.

How's your week going? Hopefully it's not as crazy as mine!

Till Next Time,
Kate
