Dutch Baby Pancakes with Caramel Sauce

Dutch Baby Pancakes is a family favorite around here!
We love it sooo much that sometimes we even have it for dinner!!
I had planned to post a recipe for No Bake Cookies but unfortunately they all disappeared before I could snap a picture of the finished product!
I hope you enjoy these AMAZING pancakes instead!!

You will need:

4 eggs
1 stick of butter
1 c flour
1 c Milk
1 t vanilla extract
1/2 t salt

1.While your oven is preheating to 425* place the stick of butter into a medium size baking dish.
Then place dish in oven!

2. Now if you have a stand up mixer USE it!
If you don't have one then you can still use a normal mixer.
Place 4 eggs into bowl. Mix on High for 2-5mins until bubbly.

3. Add flour, vanilla, salt, and milk.
Then beat on High for 8-12mins(until the butter in oven has melted).
The batter should be nice and bubbly like this:

4.Pour batter into baking dish.
Bake for 20mins until puffy and golden brown around edges.
**Side Note: The smaller the pan the thicker the pancake will be. And the pancake can puff up very high! But that usually happens with a bigger pan.**

Now if you would like to go the extra mile then you HAVE to make the Caramel Sauce!
It is Jack's favorite part!!
If not then these really do taste pretty good with maple syrup and powder sugar or with jam.

Here's what you will need for the Sauce:

1/4 c butter
1/4 c brown sugar
1/4 c light corn syrup

1. In sauce pan melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup on medium heat.

2. Bring sauce to boil.
Let it boil for 1min.

3. Let the sauce cool for at least 10mins.
The longer it sits the thicker it will get!

4. Enjoy your Dutch Baby Pancakes with Caramel Sauce!
And trust me, you will LOVE it!!

Don't forget to ENTER this weeks's Giveaway!!!

This scarf has two layers of ruffles!
It is about 63in long and 5in wide.

A few things that i am Thankful for!

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
Psa 69:30

What are you thankful for this year?

Instead of posting one thought each day I decided to just list a few things that I am thankful for.

1. The Cross
I am so very thankful that Jesus Christ came and died on the cross for me!
Without his sacrifice I would not have my Salvation!

2. Kris
I have an amazing husband!
He is always trying to do something sweet for me!
He is an extremely hard worker and an amazing Father!

3.Jackson
Isn't he cute?
This was taken the day we brought him home form the hospital.
Jack is truly an amazing kid!
He brings us so much joy that I couldn't imagine our life without him!
He will be 2 1/2 tomorrow!

4.Family
I am thankful for my family!

And...
Kris' family!

5.America
I am SO thankful to be an American!!

Here is a wonderful song that i found that i think you might enjoy!

Statue of Liberty
© Words & Music by Neil Enloe

In New York Harbor stands a lady,
With a torch raised to the sky;
And all who see her know she stands for
Liberty for you and me.

I’m so proud to be called an American,
To be named with the brave and the free;
I will honor our flag and our trust in God,
And the Statue of Liberty.

On lonely Golgotha stood a cross,
With my Lord raised to the sky;
And all who kneel there live forever
As all the saved can testify.

I’m so glad to be called a Christian,
To be named with the ransomed and whole;
As the statue liberates the citizen,
So the cross liberates the soul.

Oh the cross is my Statue of Liberty,
It was there that my soul was set free;
Unashamed I’ll proclaim that a rugged cross
Is my Statue of Liberty!

I hope you have a very Thankful Thanksgiving!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Jack is Talking!!

So my oh so smart Jack-Jack is starting to talk!
Yay!!!

This month on the 24th he will offically be 2 1/2!!!
Where has my little baby boy gone?

Here are a few of his favorite words:

"Hi" --He says "Hi" to anyone at any time!

"No"-- He is two after all! lol

"Where'd it go?"-- Where did it go? is the question that i hear over 100 times a day!
He is ALWAYS asking "where'd it go?".

"Shhooe"--Jack-Jack loves his shoes!
If it's time to go anywhere he will get his shoes & socks for you to put on him!

"Oh Dear!"-- I think we must watch Winnie the Pooh to much!

"Hot Chochlate" This is a new phrase!
While visiting my mom last week Jack learned about a wonderful drink called "Hot Chocolate"!

"Here u go"--He says this ALL the time too!
He even says it to himself when he gets something!

"Tank you!"--This is my favorite!
It melts my heart every time i see him smile and say "tanks momma"!!

We have also been working on naming body parts(head, ears, nose, eyes, ect) and counting!
He has been doing a very good job!

Yesterday i asked if he would like to go to the library with me.
He said "Yeah! Go! Shhooes" and then ran to the closet  but he came back with only one shoe which he held out to me and said "Shhooe".
I said "Jack, you only have one shoe but you have two feet."
He looked a little confused so i showed him what i meant by pointing and counting his feet.
He then smiled at me and put his shoe in front of a foot and said "one, two, feet! One shhooe"!
I said, "Right! You have two feet but only one shoe!"
So he then ran to the closet and brought me his other shoe and said "One, two shhooe!"

Of course we did a bit of a happy dance!
It was the first time he actually counted and understood!
He is getting so big and smart!!

Here is a video that i took of Jack this morning!

Later this week i'm thinking about posting a recipe for No Bake Cookies!!
Yum!

Till Next Time,
Kate

This & That

We've been busy!!
On Thursday around 11am our power turned off.
Due to power outages around our area we were told that it wouldn't be fixed until the next morning.
So my wonderful parents came and got Jack and I so we wouldn't freeze(Kris had to work) in the dark!!
Of course our power turned back on about 20mins before my parents arrived(about 7:45ish) but that didn't stop us from going home with them!!!

We had a wonderful time in West Bend!
My parent's spoiled us rotten with wonderful food and shopping!
Plus on Sunday we got to go to church with them which was such a blessing!

In other news, I also finished a Custom Order Bag, Wallet, & Check book Cover!!!
I know the pictures are kinda bad.
But it was raining and I needed to get the box packed up.

Isn't this fabric great?
I especially love the inside!
I am also in love with the Wallet!

I love the stripes!
And I think the Aqua is perfect for the print!
Since I was running low on the Aqua I decided to just use the brown print fabric for the inside!
I think it still turned out nice!

Now the Check book was a new item for me!
But I am pretty happy with how it turned out!
It is also very thin which is perfect since it's a check book cover!!
Do you love this fabric? And would like a item made with it?
Then please email me at: sewsimplykate@gmail.com and let me know what you would like!!

I also finished another Wallet!!!
If you have "liked" my Facebook Page then you've already seen some of the fabric I have set aside for Wallets!!
I just love these colors together! They are so very fall-ish!
I think the inside turned out great too!!
What do you think?

Hope you're having an awesome day!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

Snow Day

Jack woke up with only one thing on his mind!
SNOW!
So of course we ate our breakfast(chocolate chocolate chip muffins) and then headed out the door to play!
Of course he took one step and immediately feel down to touch the snow.
And then he had to take his glove off so he could really touch the snow.
At which point he calmly stood up and said "Eewww cold!".
So we put the glove back on so he could play!
But of course he fell down again...
and then realized that it was easier to crawl around on the snow!
Here's a cute video of Jack crawling around!
Isn't he cute?

Here's a video of Jack playing!
I'm so glad that he had fun!
He was even sad to go inside.
But the snow will be here for many more months so i know we will have more Snow Days!

Hope your staying warm!!

Till Next Time,
Kate
