How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop??

"One, two, three, Momma! It Uuck!"

Our wonderful neighbors let Jack pick out a tootsie pop today!!
Of course he choose the chocolate one(the kid is seriously a chocoholic)!!
So is sent him to the living room to sit in his chair and watch a movie!
Usually he does really good and will sit there for 30-45mins!
But within 20mins he came crying to me because it got "Uuck" in his hair!
I felt really bad for him!
But of course I couldn't miss out on a chance to take some pictures!
Ya know, I never thought that I'd have this problem with a boy!!
Maybe it really is time to cut his hair.
At least he had fun playing in the sink!

Well, i need to get back to cleaning! We are moving tomorrow and Saturday!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

Still Packing!

Yes, we are still packing! But the end is growing near!!
Our Kitchen is finished!!
Okay, so i have one cabinet left and few odds and ends!
But it will be finished very SOON!!
And obviously my kid thinks moving is more fun if you get to play inside the empty cabinets!!
He has been such a big "help" lately!!
He is very good at emptying boxes!
Hopefully this trait will last through next week when we will need his helpfulness!
But it's worth letting him have some fun if we get to see his smile!
With all the packing and changing of Jack's schedule the poor guy hasn't been sleeping very well.
He went from primarily sleeping in his toddler bed to sleeping in his play pen. And now he is verily sleeping at all.
Last night he didn't fall asleep until 11pm and ended up in my bed shortly after midnight. But thankfully he did sleep in till 8:45am!!!
I'm hoping that once we get moved he will understand that things will go back to normal ASAP!
And hopefully he will transition over to sleeping in his big boy bed without many issues!

And what about the rest of our apartment? Well honestly everything is just about packed up!! Other then a few small things(that will be packed today) we are currently living out of boxes! But it's about time to start cleaning!!

Please keep us in your prayers! We should be purchasing a car later this week!!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

Yes, i am human!

Do you ever feel like your house is crumbling right before your own eyes?
I think that it's sometimes hard for us to admit that we are human.
I hate admitting that I'm not the amazingly perfect housewife and mom that i think i should be!

And on days like today when it feels like my house is falling to pieces it's hard for me to stand back and remember that I am doing the best i can in the situation i am in.

Moving is very hard work. It's hard to pack everything in boxes while still trying to maintain control over every day things like...vacuuming. Or doing the dishes. Or even making dinner!
Plus as a female i find moving very emotional. Don't you?

Sure it was easy before i was married and had a kid. I mean come on, kids have a ton of stuff!!
But back then my mom was in charge of worrying about the details. All i had to do was pack my stuff up a few days before we'd leave and then help her with whatever else needed to be done.
But on days like today i am reminded of the Virtuous Women.
Do you ever wonder if she had hard days? Was her sink ever over flowing with dishes? Or her laundry pile to high? Did she ever forget that kids like to eat lunch or they get very crabby!
 I'm sure she did.
After all she was human just like you and me!

Since i was thinking about the Virtuous Women i decided to read Proverbs 31.
I couldn't tell you how many times I've read this chapter. But today i saw it in a different light!

Here's a quick look at what i found!

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.
Prov.31:10

It's still such an amazing verse!

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her...
Prov. 31:11a

The first thing that i was reminded of is that Kris is trusting in me.
He needs me to make sure that all our items get packed up and be placed in the garage by Friday.
He needs me to make sure that our apartment is clean and ready for the inspection on Sunday.
He also needs me to have a positive attitude during this very hard week while he deals with countless other things.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Prov.31:13

This verse just makes me smile! Gee, i wonder why! ;~)

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household.
Prov.31:15a

I also saw this verse in a different light today!!

Yesterday my husband asked me to make tacos for lunch!! You see, he works 3rd shift and he wouldn't be home for dinner. So he asked if I'd make him tacos for lunch.
My flesh says no because this would mess up my schedule.
Plus everyone knows that tacos are dinner food!
But then i think I'd be crazy to send him to work with a hungry tummy.
He's going to work 12 hours so he can provide for his family the least i can do is send him to work with a real meal!

I bet your trying to figure out how this applies to the Virtuous Women!
Well, here's how i see it!

To rise at night probably means that she was sleeping.
Or maybe it was late in the evening and she was getting ready for bed but since her household was hungry she put the needs of others before her.

How many times have we been asked to do something but because it inconvenienced us we said no? Or we actually did the task but had a horrible attitude?
Do you think that is still honoring to God? I don't.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Col. 3:17

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Prov.31:27

I was also reminded that i can't just quit this week. Even tho i fee like it!
I can't just veg out on the couch watching movies with Jack all day! I have to get up and finish packing! And clean the walls and baseboards! Plus do all the laundry(we start paying $1 a machine once we move) and still make spaghetti for dinner like Kris asked!

And of course!
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Prov. 31:30

Have you ever felt hopeless? Like things in your life are building up? The laundry, the dishes, sometimes even the kids? Well you are not alone! Always remember that God is with you!
For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5b

Well, i think this is it for today! I really need to clean my kitchen!
Plus finish the bathrooms and some laundry!

I hope your enjoying your day!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

Packing....

Is NO fun!! I am seriously tired of packing and I'm ready to be done!! But i still have a couple of rooms to finish up!
But at least Jack's room is looking like this!
Both his dressers are empty! Poor kid is living out of a tote in my bedroom.

**Just to let you know some of my pictures have disappeared! So I'm using the ones i have! I'm very sorry that some are blurry and that I'm missing some Before & After pics!**

I bet your wondering how the kitchen is coming along!
Well, i was able to pack up my china!
And now it looks like this!
(the before pic has magically disappeared)

Oh, and the pretty ivy that i had on top of my cabinets?
Well, it's gone!
Thankfully our new place will have a place for me to use the ivy and other items i have!!

Our kitchen has also become the pit stop for some boxes!
This picture was taken Saturday night.
This one was taken this morning!
And yes i am working on a sewing project!! But it's going to be put on hold until i can get into that closet to reach my serger!

How is Jack responding to all this packing you ask?
Well, i think he's been enjoying it!
We are almost done packing!!
I really only have the bathrooms and a few odds and ends to finish up!
But then it's time to start cleaning! Which is always more fun then the packing part!
But if i stick to my schedule(which I'm already behind on) everything should be done by Thursday night!

Well I'm off to do some more packing!!

Till Next Time,
Kate

Who doesn't love a great scarf?
It's the easiest way to add a splash of color to a boring outfit!
Since i have so many great scarves in my Shop I've decided to make this post about All my favorite ones!
So i hope you enjoy hearing about Scarves!!
A while ago my very dear friend Cortney Badenhop asked me to make her a Custom Scarf!!
So i went shopping at my local fabric store and found this amazing fabric!
I think it turned out super cute!
Cortney also has the adorable Zebra Print Scarf!!
Which is totally one of my favorites!!
Last week when i decided to do a special Highlight & Review week i immediatly emailed Cortney some questions and thankfully she answered them!

Here's what she said:

How did you hear about Sew Simply Kate? I heard about it when my friend, Kate, came up with the idea of her business ;)

What item/s did you purchase? I have a dress, 2 scarves, and a couple flowers

Are you satisfied with the color/s? The colors of everything are great!

Is the size what you were expecting? The scarves are a great length to spice up everyday wear,  the dress fit pretty well in most spots.

Is there anything that surprised you about the product? SSK customer service is great!  It was her first time with a dress and since there were a few spots that weren't "right" she said she'd make a new one for me since she figured out the kinks :)

How often do you use your item? I wear the scarves when I go out with jeans and a plain shirt

Would you purchase other items from Sew Simply Kate? Def!

What would you like to see added next into the Shop? I'm not sure, but she is doing a great job expanding her horizons daily :)

Here is a picture of Cortney and her scarf!
Thanks so much Cort!

Here are a few Facts about Scarves:
